SettingSteel SpearGear (SSSG) is a small, family owned spearfishing shop.  It makes all the sense, being my family’s families, family’s families is the fourth generation of spearos. …) From my father’s side we have Cuban, Greek, and Italian and from my mother’s side we have Russian, Croatian, and Spanish - and each generation has spearo’s actively pursuing this awesome sport.  But that’s not all - it happens that on my father’s side we have a long history of artisan woodworkers that made some fine guns in their time, so it would just seem a long last rite of passage that we started SSSG.  And following in my family’s footsteps, we have begun creating the absolute best spearguns you will ever own. Our specialty crafted, custom-made wooden spear guns have the latest innovation in design, and the best materials available.  Each of our spear guns is individually hand crafted - unique in power, accuracy, craftsmanship, reliability and customer satisfaction.

Our custom spearfishing gear is made in-house in sunny (most of the time) South Florida. Each piece is individually made, one at a time, following rigid specs, using state-of-the-art materials, and the latest technologies - each is rigorously tested to meet the high demands our sport requires.  Finally, if we're satisfied, it’s stamped with our SettingSteel logo... to enjoy a lifelong relationship with you and the ocean.

One thing you will notice, much of our spearfishing gear has some type of wood utilized within the design from our Stone Styx® spearguns to our Miami Kill Floats.  It seems aside from being quite applicable to the sport of underwater hunting, wood adds a sense of elegance, timelessness, and separates it from all the " fantstico plastico" out there.   We have tried to keep this material present in much of our gear, because wood is the link, the warmth, and the karma we bring to the sea.  Through the years, SSSG has garnered the utmost respect for this natural resource and we have great enthusiasm working with it- we hope to pass that on to you!
